Goodbye, Mama (October 14, 1914 - September 9, 2007)

Mama lost her battle with cancer today. We would like to thank everyone for their thoughts and purrayers.... We probably won't be online very much for a while with everything that has been happening.

Worried Wordy Wednesday

Hi, everyone, Mia reporting here... Mom's Mama (grandmother) is back in the hospital so we are all very worried about her. Mama was to swallow the camera today and she was so weak that they took her to the ER and we believe she will be admitted back to the hospital tonight. Mama is very weak and not eating much so everyone is very concerned. If ya'll have some spare purrs for her, we would very much appreciate it.

It is hot - we topped out today around 107 here so we aren't wanting to do anything but sleep. Mom is grumbling about all the 100+ degree weather. Nothing much happening down here but hope everyone is staying cool. Mom said our posting is still going to be sporadic because of her work and her helping with Mama.

We're Back!!!

Hi, everyone! We've missed ya'll. Lots of stuff has happened since we last posted. First, Ghost wants to talk about the picture.

This is the 1st picture Mom (she wasn't even Mom to me then) ever took of me. I was a feral kitten who was starving and I decided to let her take care of me. The picture isn't the best but Mom said it is one of her favorite cause it the first one.

Okay, on to what has been happening... Mom finished a huge project at work which is still causing her lots of work but they made the deadline. We had Buddy visit but we hope he is gone home now (he is a blond Lab and lives next door). The neice had her 15th birthday on 8/3. And Mom's Grandmother had to go into the hospital. We are going to let Mom give an update on her.

Jen (AKA the Mom) here... I hope that I'm able to help the girls more with their blog now. Work still hasn't calmed down so I don't have a lot of time. As Beau reported on Blogosphere, my Grandmother had to go into the hospital for blood loss. They ran lots of test but weren't able to pinpoint the problem. She was released on Friday night but will have to go back to the doctor later this week to swallow a camera to see if they can locate the problem. She is 92 years old and has heart issues as well so please purr for her. Thanks... we are all happy to be back online.

Sleepy Saturday

Zzzzzzzz..... these are actually old pictures of us that Mom found looking through a photo album. Mom is very busy with work (she came in at 3am and is getting ready to go back in) so we will probably take a break from our sporadic posting schedule. Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend and we will check in as we can. Hope everyone has a nice weekend and our American friends enjoy the upcoming 4th of July holiday (Mom has to work then too).

Our friend Chatham ran to the Rainbow Bridge today at 4:30. He just recently celebrated his 20th birthday. Please think about his Cat Couch, Dad, Twin Girls & Salem as they miss Chatham.

Happy Father's Day to our Granddaddy

As the senior member of the house, I get to wish our Granddaddy a Happy Father's Day. He takes care of us while Mom works all the time. We love you Granddaddy.

We've been bad - we missed wishing our Aunt Gail (Mom's sister) a Happy Birthday last week. We hope she had a good one.

Tiger Lily tagged us for the 7 random thingies. I'm taking my turn since Ghost already did hers.

1. I was named for soccer (football for our European friends) player Mia Hamm. My Mom didn't name me - I already was Mia when I came to live here. My former "owner" moved & left me outside.

2. When I want something I tell whoever will listen & meow loudly until I get my message through to the humans (they are slow sometimes).

3. I love human food... currently I've been having BBQ, shrimp & chicken while I help clean up the leftovers from the party.

4. Mom is my favorite person but I love my Granddad & Aunt too. My Aunt rescued me & got her sister (Mom) to come take me to my forever home.

5. I must snoopervise everyone in the house. Mom has to have my help when she is working or cooking or doing laundry, etc.

6. I have black paw pads, blue eyes & combination of white, black and grey fur.

7. I have morning routine where Mom feeds me breakfast and she stays with me while I eat (she has to drink her diet dr pepper to get going) then after I'm through eating she lets me have some milk. Then she can go get ready for her day.

Jen AKA the Mom here... thanks for everyone's wishes for my Dad. I think we surprised him with the party. I promised not to give away his age! We survived my nephew's college graduation on Monday. I'm very proud of my Emory graduate but whoever made out schedule for it to start at 8:00am on Monday should be beaten. Work is crazy for me right now so the girl's posting may be sporadic at best. We try to get around to as many blogs as we can each day.

1. As you might can tell from my picture, I only have one eye. This was picture right after I came back from V-E-T. If you look closely you can see my stitches where eye was removed.

2. I was a feral kitty when I came here but Mom helped me trust her & convinced me to come move in with her.

3. I'm a girl! Sometimes people don't know because my name doesn't give them any clue.

4. My Granddaddy's (Mom's Dad) birthday is tomorrow (5/13). Shhh... they are planning a surprise party and letting him think it is for Mom's nephew who is graduating from Emory Monday.

5. I have lost all my teeth - some never came in due to my diet as kitten. Others have either been pulled or fallen out due to infections

6. I'm still mad that BG (that d-o-g) is living here. But I'm not scared of her cause I know Mom wouldn't let anything happen to me.

7. I have completely white fur, pink paw pads, and my eye is green.

Mom hasn't been helping us with blog very much because she is working all the time. We hope it will get better but she isn't very hopeful - she is sitting around looking at her laptop mumbling about JDBC, C, databases, VPN, sftp, and other stuff. Hopefully she won't lose her mind and will be able to help us more soon.

Hi, Ghost here... this is an old picture of me. We are having some pretty strong storms in Alabama tonight. We need the rain but hate the thunder & lightning (BG is scared of the thunder).

My turn!!! BG here - I'm not scared... I just was panting hard because it was hot not because I was scared. That's my story & I'm sticking to it.

You two stop fighting... We need to ask everyone to keep DKM & family in your thoughts with the loss of Joaquin, Bear has also been at the vet - we have been purring for her & her family. Also Gizzy isn't doing well. Please go by and offer your support for our friends. On a happier note - Happy Birthday to Beau's Mom! We think the storm has finally past. 1) Since we aren't allowed outside any we turned to the internet to be able to get out thoughts out.
