Inspiration

Meow... I was sitting around thinking about our blog. I know that Prince Muddy Paws & Timothy Dickens inspired us to start. What inspired your blogs to be started? ~ Mia

First mama read the Mows, then she got adventurous and clickied on Max. From there, it was, as she says, all downhill from there. After some time, and spending a lot of time reading (we have dial up at home, making it a little slow with all the kitty blogs out here)I convinced her we could do it, too. I love all the beautiful kitties on the 'net.

Actually, I started because my Cat Couch knows some dogs with blogs. I thought that I needed to make a feline presence. I had no idea that there were so many blogging kitties then!!

Ooh, my story is almost the same as Brandi's. We used to read the Mows, then we found the link to Max the Psychokitty, then we started looking at the kitty blogs linked on Max's blog. Then I bullied my mum into letting me start my own blog!

Our Mommy did the same thing Brandi's mommy did - read the Mows and then clicked on Max's link, and then we read all the blogs for a while 'afore she said that it would be ok for us to start one.

I started my blog because I needed to let the world know about the deplorable condirtions I was living in. I couldn't find any other kitty blogs for a long time, then I found timmy and Muddy and another blog that was a little too rude for even me. When I found Timmy and Muddy, and then started finding other kitties, I was so freaking happy! This is a lot more fun with other kitties to talk to!

We started out the same way as Brandi and Fat Eric. Momma first read the Mows over a year ago. We only just now convinced her to let us start our own blog.

Now we remembers. After Avram's blog, Scobby, Shabby & Scout saw us there and said hi, then Beau, then Timmy, and more. We were so 'cited when we saw we had 12 comments in our first post. Efurry one was sooooo nice and welcoming. And in the mean time we read the "I crap in a box" blog an Mom laughed so hard she cried and almost fell offen her chair. It was then we realized how creative and talented efurryone is in this cat bloggin community.

We started ours for rattie lovers that might be interested in rat care, treats, life with rats, etc. It was fun, but Rat Rat is definitely enjoying her retirement. :)

The amazing Timothy "Lampshade" Dickens. The outstanding Max Psychokitty and the wonderful William of Mass Destruction were my main inspiration to start my own blog. I'm glad I did a'cause I've met so many wonderful poodies and ratties, and fluffies, and woofies and their beans online.

we started ours cause mom read Oreo's blog and decided we could have one. We like it when mom reads all the blogs to us so we know what other 4 leggers are doing.

Mom already had the idea and started it before reading other, then she found out about Timmy, Muddy, and Deep, then others. They all helped her a lot when she started which she really appreciated. Now we have lots of cat blogger friends!

My staff Susie and Mike started my blog "My Life As Nemo" even though I'm a co-writer. I'll have them answer the question:

I’ve decided to make a website for Nemo, our FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus) positive cat. He came in as stray so we have no way of finding out his history. What was his name before Nemo? Whom has he met? What was his like? What food did he eat? What games did he enjoy playing? How did he survive without a home? In that little head of his, we have no idea how much memory there is of a world completely unknown. It is important that I record his life as Nemo so people who have never met him will see what an extraordinary animal he is. Once he is gone, he will always be remembered as the cat called Nemo.

Just a year ago, my friend Meg started her blog and introduced me to them. I had never been to a blog prior to that. I immediately knew I wanted one but felt like I had nothing to say. My Eponine one evening told me she had seen me reading Meg's blog and Eppy went on to tell me she wanted one of her own. She said she finally felt she had an avenue to tell all her stories. She and I had no idea other cats had blogs. She totally thought she was being original.

Through a New York Times article I discovered a Kansas City blogger (who I don't read anymore), but from there I discovered "Carnival of the Cats" and from there first went to "Mind of Mog." It was on Mog that Ep and I found all these other links to blogging cats. We were amazed! I even told Meg about the discovery and made the quote of the day on her blog.

Now I sometimes wonder if my Eppy knew she was sick even back then. She passed away almost 5 months to the day after starting her blog. Without "Secret Paws," blogging cats, and other blog friends, I am 100 percent positive I would not have been able to cope through that loss.

The inspiration for my blog actually came from my human pet's blog. I usually came into the den and sat on the chair beside her, thinking to myself, "Surely there are other kitties out there who are writing and exchanging pictures!"

I also wanted to give human friends a unique perspective on what it is like for us felines. I wanted to inform them that their assumptions about us are not always correct, and that we do actually do things with our time besides sleeping, sunbathing, and sleeping.

My human pet is also sentimental, and she likes having the blog now so she can look back at all of my adventures. She's a big scrapbooker so this digital movement is a blast for her!

Oh, Zeus, I actually want to believe all you and other cats do is sleep, sun bathe, sleep more and eat. That way I can stay jealous and wish I had your life!
