Tornado Tuesday

Hi, everyone... we just wanted to let everyone know that tornados came thru our area early this morning. Everyone is alright but BG has gone to help our Aunt with all her downed trees. Mom is going to work and she will be able to see how much damage there is around. Hope everyone is okay...

UPDATE - our Aunt's house is fine just some trees down. Our neighbor has damage to their chicken house but didn't have any chickens. However, a friend of Mom's and her family have lost their house. It slid completely off foundation and is unsafe for the family. Mom's friends, husband & their two sticky little people (they were in house when storm hit) are all okay but they have spent the day trying to salvage whatever they can. Another house near Mom's friend is just gone - it was swept away by the storm and our friend's Aunt (she was just leaving for work when storm hit) is in hospital in critical condition. Our thoughts are with them and all the other families who have lost family or property to the storms.

Thinking Blogger Award

My friends Skeeter and LC gave me the Thinking Blogger award. To quote them they said "She makes us think of how hard life can be, an how lucky we are not to know of those things. We don’t know of anofer kitty that goes on with such dignity after such hardship an loss." about me. As a kitten I did have a very hard life and suffered some health problems as a result of that and other things. Since this blog started, my family has lost some very important members (Grandmother, Mia and most recently Great-Grandmother) and we have all been grateful for the support of the blogosphere. I don't know that our posts really have great cause for thinking especially when we post so erratically. We know our friends will stick with us no matter how lazy (ummm... maybe I'd better change that to busy) Mom is and neglects blogging, emails and anything else that she doesn't have to deal with at immediate moment.

I know this award has made the rounds so I'll just list five blogs that make me think and if they haven't received & would like to post it then that great but if you already have it or don't feel like posting that is okay too.

1. Mozart & Gonzo make me remember when I first came inside and yes, I agree with Mozart that In Is Better.

2. Muddy, Myst & Dandelion were the first bloggers we found and they inspired us to start ourselves. They live near my cousins cats too.

3. Missy, KC and family because Missy makes me think of Mia (blue eyes, coloring, stripes). The kittens are too cute but I couldn't stand that many cats near me. Oh, and BG misses her friend Bear terribly.

4. Grr has my personality so of course I have to read about her. The rest of her family is so cute but I'm glad I'm an only cat.

5. Beau makes me think about how sweet and handsome he is everytime I go to his blog. I'm not a very good girlfriend cat to him (mainly because of Mom not being available) a lot of the time but he is always a gentlecat to me.

I could list so many more.... DK & the fluffies, the Meezers, the Hotties, William, etc...

Thankful Thursday

I'm thankful I can now sleep in peace since the holidays are over.
And that Mom thinks it is wonderful that I'm coming out of my safe room to be in her bedroom more now.
And for all my friends on the blogosphere.
And for so many other things that I couldn't possibly list them all.

One other I must list... Happy 13th Birthday Ryan!!! Ryan is my cousin (Mom's human nephew) and he is owned by 2 kitties (Lena & Frisky), a woofie (Abby) & a guinea pig (Ivy). We hope you have many more.

Looking for Gifts

Mom was shocked because I was walking around entire house today (I normally stay in my one room where I feel safe). I was looking for my Christmas gifts. We all hope that everyone has a Merry Christmas (or Happy Holiday of whatever kind you celebrate).

Tattle Tail Tuesday

Before I tattle, I'd like to thank everyone for their kind words about Mia. We still miss her & think about her every day...

Now on to the tattling... I think I'll start with BG. She is scared of me! Ha - all I have to do is growl or hiss & she backs up! Now I can tattle on Mom. Guess first I should tattle that yesterday was her birthday but I know better than to share age. She still is working on her Christmas shopping & has no idea what she is going to feed the family yet. Mom is horrible with not taking pictures or helping me blog. I'd better stop with the tattling or I might not get anything for Christmas.

Mia (1994 - October 30, 2007)

We lost Mia tonight to the Rainbow Bridge. She ran off on her own this evening. She has been a part of our lives for the last 12+ years and I can't believe how much it hurts & how much I miss her already. I hope she is off playing with all her friends who have gone before her. I'd love to write something wonderful in tribute to her but I just can't right now. We will be offline for a while trying to carry on but will try to get by our friends. We love you all...

Thursday Thirteen

Thirteen things about us:

1) Ghost almost was killed when she was outside feral kitty
2) Mia was rescued by Mom's oldest sister
3) BG showed up on Labor Day 2006
4) Ghost has been here longest, then Mia, then BG
5) When Mia was rescued, she had to ride almost 2 hours to get to forever home
6) BG loves rides - she even tries to go to work with Mom
7) Ghost has no teeth
8) Mom thinks Mia is at least part Meezer because of her voice & blue eyes
9) The V-E-T thinks BG is pure or close to pure Jack Russell woofie
10) Ghost had eye removed due to bad infection
11) Mia likes baby food (turkey or chicken)
12) BG is 1st woofie that Mom ever had
13) Mom is having problems with all the digital cameras so she is frustrated that we can't post pictures.

Monday Meme

Our friends Patches, Mittens, Mistrie & Precious from the Big Piney Woods tagged us for the desktop meme. This is the picture from one of Mom's work laptops (she has two).



This was after she had cleaned up some of her icons last week so it actually looks fairly neat. She has some useful programs on the computer for things like time tracking, ad ware detection, IM etc... that she uses for work (she said they were all free if anyone is interested).

We think everyone has been tagged so we won't bother with rules or tagging anyone. Mom said she is horrible with helping us blog but she has been working weird hours for work and a lot so we will let her by for now. She hopes to have things running smoother soon but work is going to take a lot of her time for the next month. We try to get to our friends blogs & comment as much as we can...

Goodbye, Mama (October 14, 1914 - September 9, 2007)

Mama lost her battle with cancer today. We would like to thank everyone for their thoughts and purrayers.... We probably won't be online very much for a while with everything that has been happening.

Worried Wordy Wednesday

Hi, everyone, Mia reporting here... Mom's Mama (grandmother) is back in the hospital so we are all very worried about her. Mama was to swallow the camera today and she was so weak that they took her to the ER and we believe she will be admitted back to the hospital tonight. Mama is very weak and not eating much so everyone is very concerned. If ya'll have some spare purrs for her, we would very much appreciate it.

It is hot - we topped out today around 107 here so we aren't wanting to do anything but sleep. Mom is grumbling about all the 100+ degree weather. Nothing much happening down here but hope everyone is staying cool. Mom said our posting is still going to be sporadic because of her work and her helping with Mama.

We're Back!!!

Hi, everyone! We've missed ya'll. Lots of stuff has happened since we last posted. First, Ghost wants to talk about the picture.

This is the 1st picture Mom (she wasn't even Mom to me then) ever took of me. I was a feral kitten who was starving and I decided to let her take care of me. The picture isn't the best but Mom said it is one of her favorite cause it the first one.

Okay, on to what has been happening... Mom finished a huge project at work which is still causing her lots of work but they made the deadline. We had Buddy visit but we hope he is gone home now (he is a blond Lab and lives next door). The neice had her 15th birthday on 8/3. And Mom's Grandmother had to go into the hospital. We are going to let Mom give an update on her.

Jen (AKA the Mom) here... I hope that I'm able to help the girls more with their blog now. Work still hasn't calmed down so I don't have a lot of time. As Beau reported on Blogosphere, my Grandmother had to go into the hospital for blood loss. They ran lots of test but weren't able to pinpoint the problem. She was released on Friday night but will have to go back to the doctor later this week to swallow a camera to see if they can locate the problem. She is 92 years old and has heart issues as well so please purr for her. Thanks... we are all happy to be back online.

Sleepy Saturday

Zzzzzzzz..... these are actually old pictures of us that Mom found looking through a photo album. Mom is very busy with work (she came in at 3am and is getting ready to go back in) so we will probably take a break from our sporadic posting schedule. Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend and we will check in as we can. Hope everyone has a nice weekend and our American friends enjoy the upcoming 4th of July holiday (Mom has to work then too).

Happy Father's Day to our Granddaddy
